Our Mission

What the Fox Wildlife Rescue and Sanctuary Inc. is dedicated to protecting, preserving, and conserving Florida’s native wildlife species through rehabilitation and educational initiatives. We are committed to promoting the ethical treatment of wildlife while fostering biodiversity and sustainability through community engagement. Our goal is to be a leader in the successful rescue, rehabilitation, and reintroduction of Florida’s native wildlife.

It is important to note that possessing and working with injured or orphaned wildlife requires special permits from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services.

What to do if you find an orphaned animal?

    Look for adult parents in the vicinity

  • 2
    Look for other young animals

  • 3
    Look for a suitable nesting site

    If possible, return the young to the nest. The parents will continue to care for their young even if handled by humans!

    If the animal is truly an orphan

    Place it in a warm, dark box and remember that it needs warmth, darkness, and quietness

What to do if you find an Injured animal?

    Approach slowly, from the rear if possible

    Cover the animal with a towel or blanket

  • 3
    Place animal in a cardboard box - be sure the box is well ventilated to avoid overheating
